Use humor and laughter to eliminate your stress when possible. Although it is not always the best time, if you can look at the stressful situation from a different point of view and see the humor in it, it will help relieve the stress of it. Even if you cannot find the humor in a stressful situation, try to think of a good joke or funny story that you heard and this will help tremendously.

Identify the source of your stress, as it can be induced by so many things. Once you identify the source, you can work at solving your problems, to relieve yourself of that particular piece that is bothering you. Eliminating any source of stress from your life should provide immediate and lasting relief.

If you are dealing with a lot of stress do something that will take your mind off of it for a while. This could be reading a book or playing a video game. Then when you are sufficiently relaxed, go back to what you were working on and you will find it much easier to do with a clear mind.

One of the easiest ways to reduce stress in your life is by shutting off the evening news. Today’s news broadcasts are typically filled with nothing but doom and gloom, making them anything but uplifting. In fact, they can leave you feeling downright stressed out and worried. Instead, try skimming the news headlines online to stay informed. Just don’t allow yourself to get bogged down in all the details.

Meditation is an excellent and time-honored way to deal with stress. Many religions include meditation as a practice, but even if you are not religious, you can still benefit from meditation. Just find something to focus on and concentrate on breathing slowly and evenly. A few meditation sessions each week can provide great benefits.

Shake your body out on a daily basis! You may think you carry your stress only in your mind, but your body carries it just as much. Take ten minutes every day to let go and shake every part of your body. Stretch your legs, your neck, your arms and your back. Shake your hands for ten to fifteen seconds. Breathe deeply while doing these exercises. You’ll find you feel less stressed afterwards!

To reduce the amount of stress hormones in your body, find ways to laugh! Laughter has been proven to be one of the best defenses the body has against stress. Try keeping a few funny jokes, pictures, or videos on-hand so that you can look at them when you’re feeling burnt out. You’ll be surprised at how much better a little laughter makes you feel.

When you are feeling stressed out, you may want to take your frustrations out at a gym. Using a punching bag or just exercising helps to release tension so that you can be calm enough to deal with the happenings of your life. It is a plus to have a friend come with you.

If you find yourself feeling stressed out a lot, then exercising regularly will help. Exercise releases endorphins which can make the mind and your mood calmer. Your aim should be to exercise 3 to 5 times per week for 30 minutes. This will reduce your stress levels and get you feeling more grounded.

Form strong relationships. Many times, those who have a support network of family and friends feel less alone and can handle their stress better because they have other people to count on. It’s easy to feel stressed when you think you’re all alone, so reach out to friends and family and make those bonds stronger.

When you feel stressed, have one of your favorite desserts. Don’t try this if you have a habit of binge eating though. The important thing is to savor your treat as you take every bite, and focus on the delicious flavors on your taste buds. As long as you can stop yourself from overeating, this is a very effective way to manage stress.

Your diet can attribute to the level of stress that you are dealing with. If you are not getting enough nutrients from your food and you skip meals or have too much time in between them, your blood sugar will drop and this will make you irritable. You won’t be able to handle stressful situations that confront you each day, either.

Even if you are at the very end of your rope, you need to hold on just a little while longer. Make sure you have read this article thoroughly and that you understand how to deal with your stress.
