Make miniature flashcards in the desired subject matter and pull them out when you are waiting at the doctor’s office, riding the subway or in any other situation where you have time on your hands.

One way that you can help yourself manage stress is to do progressive muscle relaxation. One at a time, tighten a muscle, hold it, and then release the tension. This helps to relax your body, and studies have shown that people’s mental stress goes down as their body tension is reduced.

This does not lessen your importance in making change, yet it should serve as a humbling point to base your actions from. It takes many small cogs to create the larger dynamic that moves the universe.

Improving your social skills will help you improve your personal development. When you have strong relationships that are solid and dependable, you will be able to have access to more support. Your friends will be there to help your discover more about your self from a perspective that you just don’t have.

A reflection journal is a great way to improve your life in a healthy way. Writing about your day and the way your life is going is very therapeutic, and often people write in their journals what they cannot say in person to everyone. Therefore, it is a way to systematically not keep things bottled up inside.

The universe is a very large place and you are a speck in it. You should keep that in mind and it will help you to stay grounded. Being too self-centered and over the top will only come back to bite you in the rear at the end.

Personal development is often most successful when you have a clear goal in mind. Simply striving for “improvement” will take you far, but will make it much harder for you to reach your ultimate goals. Look at the way you are living your life, right now, as if you are in a bubble. It is your little protected zone. Allow yourself to do things that are outside of your protected bubble. By doing this, you will see that it is okay to do things that are outside of what you are used to doing.
