Manipulation occurs when an individual controls another person’s emotions, behavior, and thought processes in order to satisfy a personal need. This can weaken relationships and also cause the victims to feel powerless, offended, and confused.

Living with stress is not something that is foreign to most adults. Handling stress is something that is learned, and it only becomes a problem when it begins taking over your life. Then it is up to you to learn new coping mechanisms to calm yourself down. Here are a few examples.

Meditation can be a great way for you to relieve stress. Try meditating each night before you go to bed. Turn off anything around you, close your eyes, and clear out your mind. Don’t think about things you need to get done or problems that you need to solve. Just let your mind relax for a little while and focus on each breath. If your mind starts wondering, just bring it back to your breath. Shutting off your brain takes practice, but each practice session is working off your stress.

Breathing works wonders for alleviating stress. Take a deep breath, this helps to oxygenate your blood and can help you to relax instantly. If you breath shallow, it causes your heart to beat faster and your muscles start to get tense. Instead, breathe deeply, inhale through your nose, hold a few seconds and then exhale through your nose.

In order to keep your stress level under control, it would be wise to find something that you love doing. This will to keep your mind off of whatever may bring stress in your life. A little time out, if you will? This is important because many people need an activity that will help to give them an outlet, for their frustrations.



Sometimes when we are feeling stressed, it is easy to dwell on our situation. But, if you will stop and ask yourself how bad the situation really is,based on a scale of one-to-ten, it will help you put it into perspective. You will see that what is bothering you right now really isn’t such a big deal.

A great tip that can help you fight stress is to make sure you’re not spending more money than you have. There’s nothing more stressful than being in debt and having to repay a lot of money. Being responsible with your money will help you keep your stress in check. Start today at keeping careful track of where your money is going – you could be surprised when you see how much of it is really just wasted.

Eat food that will make you feel positive about yourself and build your body. Eating lifeless and fatty fast food will stress you out. Don’t think that the food that you eat has nothing to do with the way you feel and why you are stressed. Even if you crave the sugar or fat, these kinds of foods only lead to making you feel worse.

Identify the source of your stress, as it can be induced by so many things. If you can easily remove the source of stress from your life, then don’t hesitate to do so. You will feel less stressed almost immediately!

To reduce stress, one of the things that you can do is plan a hiking trip with your friends. This will be great for your body and give you the emotional reprieve that you need. Also, you will be out in the natural wilderness, which will provide very comforting scenery.

A good tip that can help you keep your stress down, is to plant your own garden. Not only is gardening a fun hobby to have, it will keep your stress levels down, as well. You’ll also be able to show off your garden to anyone you have over.

Many of the people who are living with stress believe that it is perfectly normal. If you feel this way you should start comparing your stress levels to that of people around you. You should quickly see that your stress is much higher and is having detrimental effects on you.

When you are dealing with a person who has high levels of stress you should know when to avoid them. While the problem is their’s and not your’s, there is also no reason to make things even more difficult. Tell the person that you will resume the conversation at a later point.

If you are unable to convince yourself that stress is bad just because of your heart than you should remember that it also causes you to gain weight. When you are feeling more stressed your body attempts to hold on to the energy that it has, causing you to gain and retain weight.

A great way to lower your stress level or beat it all together, is to find an activity or hobby that you enjoy. Whether it be a reading club, gardening, or bike riding, find something that will give you a place to get away from it all, and just have fun.

Being stressed out is not something new. Everyone has been there. But when it gets to be too much to handle, use these tips as guidelines to help calm you down and help you relax. Find even more ways to cope with stress, and you’ll find you have less stress to cope with.
