If you’ve ever been under stress, you know that uncomfortable feeling that comes along with it. That feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach comes along with stress every time. If you ever want to stop having that feeling, you’re going to have to learn to deal with stress. Here are a few ways to do that.

When you take a bath at night, add some aromatherapy beads. This will help to open up your pores. Open pores help to cleanse your body from the inside out. The aromas released from the beads will go a long way towards relieving your anxiety. Taking care of your body is important in helping to reduce stress levels.

Consider getting a pet as a way to relieve stress. Having a dog waiting for you at home with his tail wagging can be a great boost after a hard, stressful day at work. Even jut have a fish can really improve your mood. But don’t take on a pet if you’re not going to be able to care for it.

A great tip that can help you keep your stress levels down is to pray. Praying can help you feel at ease. It’s also great because you can do it almost anywhere. Just a little bit of praying each day can go a long way in keeping your stress down.

In order to keep your stress level under control, it would be wise to make sure that you get a regular amount of exercise. This is important because exercise releases chemicals that work as natural tension release agents. As little as a half hour a day, a few times a week is enough.

Make an affirmation, or a positive statement to use as a coping mechanism. Saying your affirmation repeatedly can help you let go of the negative, critical voice that lives in all of us and makes stress worse. Remind yourself that you are capable of handling whatever comes your way, that you are calm and in control, or whichever adage brings you the most comfort.

A great tip that can help you keep your stress down is to draw or paint something. Drawing and painting are great ways to fight stress because you focus on being creative. It’s a great way to keep your mind off of certain things and you’ll also have some art to show off.

A good tip that can help you get your stress down is to start making sure you have enough time to get to places. There’s nothing more stressful than arriving late to work or to an important meeting. Making sure you get to places early or on time can help you keep your stress down.

Stress can be a vicious cycle so find small ways of breaking it up to avoid it breaking you down! Most of us have stress in our lives from one source or another and scheduling some fun or relaxation around it will stop it from taking over. If there is no way to completely avoid stress we can at least make it intermittent!

Munch on a snack if you are feeling a little overwhelmed. Foods that contain a lot of carbohydrates work to stimulate the release of the feel good brain chemical, serotonin. The release of serotonin helps to induce calm. Some crackers, a bagel, or pretzels should do the trick.

Many stress-related problems can be caused by a poor diet so go through what you are eating with a fine comb. If you find that you are eating in an unhealthy fashion than you should remove the bad things and try to replace them with healthy and tasty alternatives.

One way to deal with stress is to take up yoga as a regular activity. This can be helpful because yoga combines fitness with meditation – both of which are ideal ways to cleanse your body of stress. Consider either getting a book or a video to help you with your yoga technique.

You should be sure to learn the difference between good stress and bad stress so that you are better able to deal with each of them. Good stress is short lived and not very strong and can be used to motivate you whereas bad stress feels as though it is unrelated to anything in particular.

In order to handle large amounts of stress make sure you are adequately rested. Dealing with extreme stress on little or no sleep is very difficult and borderline insane. Those who are poorly rested tend to make bad decisions which can cause more stress, and tend to be more easily irritated.

If you’re finding yourself under a lot of stress often, try scheduling your day. If you plan your day out, you won’t have to worry about trying to figure out what do next. Or if you’re already doing this and are still stressed, do the opposite and try and wing it each day. Find the right medium between scheduling and winging it that works for you.

The idea that laughter is the best medicine is especially true for stressful situations. Most biologists now believe that laughing evolved as a response to a stressful or dangerous situation, so take advantage of your own body’s biology and find a way to make yourself laugh. Even if you are unable to laugh for real, fake laughing can also release tension.

If in any way possible, take a short nap during the day when you are feeling stressed. If your body is exhausted, you are sure to feel more susceptible to stress. During sleep, your conscious mind will rest and your unconscious mind can find the solutions to the situations that are causing the stress.

Use these tips as a starting point; use them to start dealing with stress in a way that is healthy and positive. By handling stress this way, you’ll be able to lessen the effect stress has on you, including that sinking feeling. Take control of yourself and stress will diminish.
