Have you had just about all you can take? Are things in your life getting you down? If so, it sounds like you are stressed. Stress is no fun! We have tips and advice on how to deal with the stresses in your life. Read on to find out how to eliminate stress and find calm.

A great way that you can feel fantastic during the course of the day is to write in your journal. When you are trying to formulate sentences, your mind will not focus on the things that are causing you tension, which will improve your overall state and mind and reduce stress.

Active meditation will nourish your spirit, improve your mood and help you find peace within yourself. Take the time to stop and clear the mind and deep breathe if only for a minute. It can reduce stress, lower your blood pressure and relax the body as well as the spirit.

Before you do or say anything you might regret, stop and count to 10. Take a moment away from the thing or person causing you stress and get yourself together. Take a few deep breaths, recite an affirmation, or stretch. Do whatever it takes to re-center yourself, and get rid of the stress.

A great tip that can help you fight stress is to challenge the way that you think. Try to stop yourself whenever you’re thinking negative. Instead, try to think more positive in these situations. You’ll notice that you’ll feel much better about yourself and the events in your life.

Ahhh…. Who doesn’t love a hot bath? Soaking in a bath is a great stress reliever. But, we don’t always have time for a hot bath. If you don’t have time for a bath, wash your face or even your hands with some hot water and imagine you are soaking your stresses away.

A great tip that can help you fight stress is to simply say “no” to people when you know can’t put more on your plate. If you have a hard time saying “no” to people, you might find yourself in a tough situation by having to do too many things at once.



Exercise is wonderful to relieve stress. It gets your heart rate pumping and takes your mind off of the stressful events in your life. Consider activities such as walking, tennis, running, swimming or biking. Stress related chemicals are burned off during exercise and it is healthy for you and your heart!

To reduce stress in your life, learn how to say no. Oftentimes people want to please everyone, yet that is not possible. Learning to say no will reduce the amount of stress you feel, even if you may feel slightly guilty. In the long run reducing your activities will help your stress levels.

Try giving a friend a call when you’re feeling stressed out. Even if you don’t talk about what’s bothering you, just chatting with a friend for a little while can really relax you. It can rejuvenate you and give you the energy you need to tackle your problems with a clear head.

If you’re finding yourself under a lot of stress often, try scheduling your day. If you plan your day out, you won’t have to worry about trying to figure out what do next. Or if you’re already doing this and are still stressed, do the opposite and try and wing it each day. Find the right medium between scheduling and winging it that works for you.

When you feel like you are not reaching the goals that you set out to hit, go to church. This will help you to learn to appreciate where you are so that you can reduce the mental pressure that you put on yourself. Sometimes, it is important to appreciate the little things in life.

You must spend time each day enjoying relaxing activities. Use these moments to imagine yourself in another place and time. This sort of exercise is fantastic for helping your brain cope with stressful situations.

A good tip that can help you reduce stress is to stop multitasking and just focus on doing one thing at a time. Multitasking might save you time but you’ll end up with a big headache. Avoid all the stress by just focusing on finishing one task at once.

Walk, bike, run or whatever! Just get out there and do it! A variety of stress hormones and neurochemicals build up in our bodies when we experience chronic stress. Exercise is one of the most effective ways to reduce these chemicals, one of the most effective ways to prevent significant stress-related damage to our health.

A great way to reduce the stress in your life is to forgive others. Spending your energy focusing on the ways others have wronged you will increase your stress levels and make you anxious and irritable.

To ease stress, consider the things that are important you. Think about the things that really matter. Knowing which things are truly important to you will help you keep stressful situations in perspective and live a happier, less troubled life.

Trim down your schedule. Often we simply pile too much on ourselves and then become overwhelmed when we simply can’t keep up with our schedules. Whether we are taking classes at college, attending various social functions, or volunteering to work extra hours at work, we have to realize we can only accomplish so much.

Fight stress and stressful situations with deep breathing. Inhale and exhale deeply through the nose at least ten times. Deep breathing can slow down an anxious accelerated heart rate, help relieve shortness of breath, calm jittery nerves and clear your head to help you prioritize your thoughts or ideas and that long need-to-do list.

There are several ways you can lower your stress level. Stress does not have to plague you day in and day out. By trying the above mentioned tips, you will see that it is possible to live a less stressful life.
