If you feel stressed out or at the end of your rope, you are not alone. The economy, work, family and an uncertain future can all cause added stress in our lives. This article will give you some tools to deal with that stress and keep it from getting the better of you in the future

When you take a bath at night, add some aromatherapy beads. This will help to open up your pores. Open pores help to cleanse your body from the inside out. The aromas released from the beads will go a long way towards relieving your anxiety. Taking care of your body is important in helping to reduce stress levels.

If you are around family for most of the day, try to hug them as often as possible. This will make you feel at peace with the people that you care for the most, which will reduce your level of anxiety. Show affection towards the ones you love to eliminate stress.

Avoid factory farmed meats, eggs and dairy products. These products are filled with adrenaline due to the horrible cruelty experienced by the animals. Excess adrenaline will raise your levels of the stress hormone, Cortisol. This will cause you to experience excess stress levels, decreasing your level of overall health and happiness.

If at all possible, avoid negative people who only bring you down and stress you out! People with bad attitudes are often contagious and in order to preserve a positive attitude and keep yourself on track you need to keep away from them. A neighbor or co-worker who is always complaining is nearly always going to cause you stress so walk away!



If the word “stress” is a regular member of your vocabulary, find another way to say it. Think about it, when you tell yourself over and over that you are hungry, eventually you realize you are starving. The same idea holds true for stress. Saying or thinking this word can make you to feel it, so call it another name!

Shake your stress away. Try this quick exercise. Sit or stand, stretch your arms out to your side, and shake your hands for around ten seconds. Shake them vigorously. While you are shaking, do some deep breathing. Just this short little exercise will help to relieve any tension in your back and neck and help to relieve some stress as well.

When it comes to dealing with stress, one great way to manage it is by learning an instrument. This is important because this is a wonderfully creative way to express your emotions and clear your body of stress. Not only are you helping to relax yourself, but you may also provide good music to other people.

If you feel like you are chronically stressed out or upset than you should consider introducing exercise into your routine. Many people swear by running for stress relief but any kind of heavy exercise will help you to free your mind and will also increase your fitness level at the same time!

If you use negative habits as a method to deal with stress, focus on developing more positive, healthier habits to engage in instead. When you normally overeat, try running or jogging. If you cope with stress by doing healthy activities instead of unhealthy ones, your body will become stronger and more resilient as you deal with stress everyday.

If you are looking to reduce your stress, a great way is to take a positive approach to your situation. We tend to feel the most stressed when we feel the most out of control. By taking an active role rather than a passive role in your situation, you will feel much more control over the situation, which in turn means less stress.

Sleep is a great way to reduce the stress levels in your life. By getting at least eight hours of sleep a day, you are setting yourself up to have a much more productive, and less stressful day. When you are lacking sleep, everything seems to be much more difficult, and therefore, more stressful. Strive to get the maximum amount of sleep each night for more productive, and less stressful days.

One great stress reliever is a massage. If you have a partner or close friend, see if they’re interested in trading massages. If not, pay to have one done professionally. Having the tension worked out of your muscles can have a profound effect on your state of mind and relieve a lot of stress.

If you feel stressed and irritable in the morning, try waking up 15 minutes earlier. It may seem counter intuitive to deprive yourself of sleep, but this will allow you to have a nice breakfast and to feel less rushed as you head out the door. Getting up earlier may also help you avoid stress inducing traffic.

Develop an exercise regime that will help you minimize stress hormones and neurochemicals. Exercise is an excellent first step in a program designed to relieve stress. Our bodies are programmed by centuries of evolution to flee in the face of stress. We can use this aspect of our evolution to our advantage.

If you are feeling overwhelmed with all that you need to get done, make sure you speak up to family members or friends who can help you. Many times these people are more than willing to help, they just need to know that you need them. Don’t try to be a superhero and do it all on your own.

Give every stressful situation you find yourself in a rating. Rate every situation from a scale of 1-10. This will help you decide what situations are really worth your time and energy to worry about. When you reduce the amount of things you worry about, you will greatly reduce your stress.
